Insulating Rack.

zachattack Nov 09, 2007 12:20 PM

If i were to build a multi level cage unit could i use the blue board insulation to keep the transference of heat from cage to cage? because i have arid, tropical and temperate habitats i hope to hold in this unit. But am concerned that my non-arid enclosure's temperature will be made too high. I want a way to blckthis from occurring.

Yes, but you would be better off using a foil-faced product as much of the heat transfer will be radiant.

You could also just line the top of each level with Reflectix which creates its own air space. But you may not want to look at that and it may interfere with lighting or heating elements.

An air space would also help but adds a bit of complexity to the project.
