i got a baby red!! hes so funny. but i have a qwestion. when i was scratching him behind the ears, he opened his mouth very very wide, is tht normal. when i did it agian he opened his mouth again too. its lke touching him there opens his mouth really wide

more than likely he is warning you that he can bite. does he hiss as well. if so he's giving you 2 warnings. just go slow and let him get used to you. pay him lots of attention and try to handle him at least once a day. if you can, try to handle him in an area where he cant run away (like a bathroom, close the toilet lid). dont hold him but let him just sit on you and walk around. he will jump off and try to run so be ready. pick him up and hold him again. be patient and he will figure out running doesnt work.

he doesnt hiss he jsut sits there with his mouth wide open. thn closes his mouth.
also i no im sopposed to hold him once a day, but is there a max i shouldnt pass. like dont hold him more thn a half hour a day or somehting?.

BTW im naming him blue(cuzhes red) or bird (cuz the bird above my garages name is lizard) red (cuz hes red) or smaug (after the hobbit dragon im a big lord of the rings fan) ill post a pic of him or her dont no yet. when i get its name figured out

the more you hold him the beter just as long as he can still have enough time to bask before and after meals for proper digestion. (an hour or two to warm up and up to 2 hours after a meal.)
