Rainbow Boa PICs

Jeff Clark Nov 09, 2007 09:30 PM

First two PICs are an adult female Isla Marajo Rainbow Boa, Epicrates cenchria barbouri

Next PIC is an adult female Colombian Rainbow Boa, Epicrates cenchria maurus

Next is an adult female Peruvian Rainbow Boa, Epicrates cenchria gaigei

These next two PICs are my female 2006 McSherry Peruvian Rainbows. The second of the two PICs was taken with the snake hiding inside a piece of PVC pipe.

This one is an adult female Argentinian Rainbow Boa, Epicrates cenchria alvarezi

These next PICs are Borba one of my adult female Brazilian Rainbow Boas, Epicrates cenchria cenchria

These next two are 2005 het hypo BRBs.

This last PIC is a baby Campina Grande Rainbow Boa, Epicrates cenchria asissi

Thanks for sharing your wide selection of species of rainbow boas Jeff. It's not that frequently that we see anything other then BRB's and even less often that we get nice pictures of anything other then BRB and CRB.

Don't know that I'd be able to tell some of those apart visually if I had to but they are all nice. Do you know what that Campina Grande will look like as an adult? How similar if at all will it be to the Argentinian appearance? If I get into any other rainbow boa species I will probably go with Argentinian or Campina Grande(if the juvenile appearance is representative).

Sean.

Sean,

...This is an old PIC of one of my adults. The Campina Grandes and Argentinians are more inquisitive and active than the other subspecies.

6.5 Brazilian Rainbow Boas
1.1 Peruvian Rainbow Boa

Jasmine,
...I have been trying to breed them for several years. This coming season I am going to try with less cooling and with humidity as high as possible.

Jeff, thanks for the pictures. It's nice to see the Argentinian and Capina Grande.

I had the chance to trade a couple of baby brbs for a pair of Argentinians last year and I didn't do it. I don't know what I was thinking. It's too bad you didn't have a big litter of Campina Grande this year and I'm sorry you lost your adult female.

Dave asked for pictures of the Walsh clown phase brb a few days ago. I know I saw pictures on this forum a long time ago, but I couldn't remember who had it. I would love to see it again.

Jeff,

Thanks for posting the pics! Always nice to see more of a variety of rainbows, they are all beautiful in their own way. I'm still fascinated by the pigmentation and how it varies so much between the different sub-species. Didn't you say you also had some Suriname BCC's? Any photos of those?

Thanks,
Ed
