hibernation

hey would any of yall recommend letting a corn snake hibernate?? i dont want to breed it, i just had it in its outside cage and when it cooled off one night he went into his burrow and hadnt really come back out. should i let him stay out there?? or bring him in. i live in houston so it wont get real real cold. any help would be great. Thanks.

As long as the outside temperatures range from 45 to 65 degrees, the snake should be fine. Naturally changing light cycles (shorter days) and falling temperatures are the factors that trigger snakes to take a winter rest.
