Jerry,

Where did you get yours from? Mine is pretty dark when I compare it to yours and a few others I have seen, but I am sure yours will darken with age. Can't waite to see pics of your male! My goal is to get a male next year so I can Have a breeding pair!

I got mine from http://www.kingsnake.com/Isisreptiles/ out of Southern California. I do not know what you paid for yours & I am sure yours is worth every penny. Some of the ones that were available were charging as much as $200ea shipped. Isis was under $200 for the pair shipped. I know them & they have a good reputation in the hobby!
Thanks,
Jerry

Yeah I had talked to them when I was looking for a black pine, but the one's they had were not eating yet so they were reluctent to sell any. So I ended up buying from Tokaysrnice on this forum! I am happy with my choice! I do need a male though! Lol!

From what I've heard it's best to see the parent snakes, that's a good indicator.
If one is black it sure wont get lighter as it ages but lighter ones can darken up a lot.

$200 seems like a lot. I paid $100 and yeah, she was brown when I first got her but even now after one shed she is darkening up.

I also saw both parents and am quite sure she will be a big black snake as an adult.

Here are some good pictures to show the transition. This isn't mine but it's a good example of how they can change. (The same snake)

Wow! That is a great transition!! Very cool!! Awesome how that snake turned so black!!!

Here is the only decent pic I have of my black pine as a baby. I need to take some recent pics.

I agree..$200 is a lot for one, as mine was only $50.

That is great! I am always amazed @ how snakes change.

BTW, the shipping is always what kills you on price. That is why I waited til after the Sacramento show to order mine. I was hoping there would be some @ the show.
