Depends on the female.

If she was bred the year before and got her wieght back for the next season, I breed her.

If not, I let her eat as much as she can to get larger for the season after.

You just have to be in tune with your girls.

In my humble experience, I haven't gotten a female to breed 2 years in a row. This year, I should have 3 that go for the second year because they put the weight back on in spades. Two have not, so they won't go. One that bred 2 years ago is ready again. Lady Ohh is correct- you have to be in tune with your girls.

I've got a first timer for this year that is barely 1300 grams, but she is SHORT, and looks huge! She will go. I have another that is 1300 grams that is LONG, and looks SKINNY. She will not go.
