Starter Kit - Flex-Tube Watering with 3

Rick247 Nov 12, 2007 05:26 PM

Original Valves. This kit includes everything you need to set up your own automated watering system. It includes 3 Original valves, 3 Valve Clips, 3 Tee Barb Fittings, 10 ft. of 3/16" Flex-Tubing, 4 Tubing Stand-Offs, 1 Drain-Vent and 1 Reservoir Tank for the water supply. This kit is perfect for someone just getting into raising small animals.

Anyone use these where its gets cold in the winter. I live in Ohio and was wandering if there was a way to keep the water from freezing.

aquarium heater in water tank and insulate water lines. valves may still freeze but that is your best chance. Also if your water lines are freezing, your rodents will breed much less as they will be freezing, warm those little critters up some.

I'm not sure how that pic relates to an automated watering system, but if your water is freezing in your lines, chances are so are your rats. Move them inside. They will die.

That's a nice idea for a snake rack. And I agree with the others as well just move them in side. Or if you can't make sure that the shed or garage is at 60 degrees or better through the winter.

Yea it hasnt got that cold yet. It was still 60 here today. Im trying to decide what to do. I keep them in a shed. I may have to run some heat or something.I brought them inside last year. I figured as long as I kept the water from freezing they would be ok.

Thanks
Rick

If you can get away with it put a space heater with built in thermastat out there. And you can add extra bedding for them too.
