Hey Mike Russo.

Wr all know that Dave made a honest mistake and he will make good on it.He is as good as the come.
On a side note, you said you may have purchased the most expensive generics ever? LOL.. I don't think so.
My buddy Aaron and I several years ago purchased into a group of supposed Guadalupe animals from what I thought at the time was a good friend that I trusted.
Come to find out once the animals were about breeder size they were generics.Total lie and he was called on it but never ofered to make good on it.I know of two other people that got snakes from the clutch and they thought they were the real deal too.
Oh well, live and learn. We have both learned to ask more questions.

Hi Shannon,

Things have already been worked out with David and I am 100% certain that this issue was nothing more than an honest mistake..

I also believe that at the end of the day eveyone involved is much better off knowing the correct locals (or non-locals) of there animals..

By the way i have some business cards here for you... email me your address and ill send them out to you..

I remember those snakes, for the record I never bred mine but I did raise them up for 3 years before finally finding out they weren't pure. Sold the adults as generics for about a $500 loss.

I, too, have some business cards from the Mid-Atlantic show as per your request. Ditto on that e-mail request from Mike. "Party on Wayne". Great thread everyone, btw, on the locale matter. Now if I could secure some Gaps, too, that would bring me full circle. Any leads?? *wink* So far, I'm tallying 1.1 W.Langtry, 0.2 Lomas, and 1.1 Christmas. I just don't feel complete yet, lol.

Shannon, Maybe some NM folks have them, but I have heard of very few animals from that area. It is something I have talked with Lance about for a while to do something different. I am sorry that you guys were "taken" on those animals. Stinks...
Were you able to track down some real ones? I think Don shores has 1 male guad, but I don't know where it came from.

Best Wishes,

Steven Owens

If someone had guads, how could they possibly prove they were collected legally?

stevenxowens792 Nov 13, 2007 12:22 PM

The hwy goes through some area that are not inside the park.

Best Wishes,

Steven Owens

I know of a few real deal ones but I have no desire to keep them since they are illegal to own.
this all happened back before the protected them.

Are they illegal to own outside of new mexico too? I too have heard rumors that pure real deal snakes do exist in captive born and bred form, but this is dating way back to protection by the state. See strategy 4.1 of the recovery plan, does anyone know if anyone is working with as they note, "Legally psessed individuals" and if so how would someone have legally posessed individuals?

I have not made the trip to the Guads habitat myself but I understand that there is collectable habitat outside of the park in TX.

Jim, I think you have way too much time on your hands and ask way too many questions. LOL Us old timers speak in code when talking about such things.

Yes I guess I do have too much time lately, When are you gong to be able to get up a pic of Bob's juno female and 277 male?

danielsmn1 Nov 20, 2007 01:24 AM

i am just getting in to grey bands, but do live in NM. It is my understanding that you can have them as long as they were collected on the Tx side. As for NM residents, You can also have them. You just have to fill out an importation permit, pay the fees, and wait for the approval. I spoke with game and fish in regards to a similar issue with Triaspis.
