Can someone tell me what the pros and cons could be behind accepting paypal, money orders, personal checks, and or cashiers checks? Should there be any methods of payments I should stay away from? Anyhelp would be appreciated.
Thanks

Personally I have always hated Paypal. I have accepted credit cards through my banks since 1999 and have not had many problems at all. Cashiers checks seem to be a main ingredient in scamming these days. Occasionally someone on the purchasing end of a deal with me is leery of using a credit card, if so I insist on a US Postal Money Order and make it clear they need to hold onto their half of it, which is the receipt. That method is often best for buyer and seller, but then you get stuck in a waiting game and have to wonder if your payment is ever going to arrive.
I have seen friends go through nightmares having their accounts frozen by Paypal, and it was a major hassle to have things corrected. I also routinely receive scam emails from fake versions of Ebay and Paypal asking for me to renew info or warning me of doing something wrong to scare you into submitting your info.
My recommendation is getting voice authorization for credit cards which you phone into your bank or insist on Postal Money Orders. Tom Stevens

I use paypal frequently and have had no problems.. It's fast and very easy when all goes right.. But, i have heard of others (including Tom) that have had issues.
As Tom said, US Postal money order is by far the safest way for both the seller and the buyer. When someone is sending me a M/O i always ask for a Postal M/O!
Personel checks are a pain!! They need to be mailed and they can take 7-10 days to clear.. By that time i could have sold and shipped an animal 6 times!! So, I do not accept personal checks!
I NEVER ask to be paid through Western Union and i would NEVER pay through W. Union.. It is by far the easiest way to get scammed out of your money!!
