Ok... My friend has had his beardie for a about a year, got it as a baby and has been more concientious and painstaking in its care than anyone else I've heard of, both around here and in the books I've looked at. (the breeder/owner of the local petshop actually gave him a very sick baby beardie to take care of because she knew that if anyone could/would put the time and effort into the special care it needed for a chance to survive, he'd be the one to do it. I've since taken over care of that one and he's doing FANTASTIC) Back to the problem. About a month ago, his lizard seemed to have a sudden loss of appetite, was still totally active and healthy. Since then, its gone downhill, the lizard still won't eat more than a bite or two every few days, has become lethargic and just lays around her cage, has lost weight (apparently not drastically, but still losing) and rarely goes to the bathroom, and there's very little when she does, which leads my friend to assume she's impacted (though I think it might be more of a case, not much going in, not much coming out) she's about 13" long, lives in a tank that is too small for her temporarily (space problem while in the process of buying a house) he uses play sand for substrate, but feeds her exclusively in a separate container, and has since she was an infant, fixes her a salad full of various greens and vegetables, and occasional fruits, strawberries, bananas i think, maybe shredded apple occasionally keeps her cage clean, removes any waste each day and totally rinses the tank and changes the sand every week to ten days. I have had no luck finding any ideas for what may be wrong, what to do about it, but he's getting worried, nothing he's been told to try has had any effect on her, and I would love to see her get better, because if anyone deserves to have a healthy lizard for all the effort they put into keeping one, he does. Any ideas, suggestions, help of any kind would be great. Thanks
