Pipping?

Lamiellm Nov 14, 2007 07:24 PM

I have some eggs incubating at 90 degrees...They are about 26 days old. Is it ok to pip them or just wait it out??

What do you mean by "peeping"? Open the egg?? If thats the case then definitely not!
Why are you incubating those eggs at 90F?? Are you trying to get hot females?

Its actually around 87-88 now. Steady!! Pipping is when you put a little slice in the egg and see what it is or help it get out.

Pipping is when the animal slits the shell of the egg on its own. Potentially ruining the egg/killing the embryo is when a person does it...

Why on hell would you wanna do that?!?!?!
If nothing comes out of the egg on it´s on than there is absolutely nothing you should do about it...
In my experience every single gecko that hatched did it on it´s own.
IMO

I've incubated at 87F for years. At that temp they should hatch out in about 6 to 7 weeks. You still have a ways to go. Wait it out.
