I guess nobody has SABLES

oldskool28 Nov 15, 2007 07:38 AM

It's amazing that not 1 person has a Sable on this forum to post ....I guess I'm on the blacklist, and that is why I never get a response unless it's negative . Great place to be .

Hello Rich,

I haven't been checking the forum much lately so I didn't see your original post. Here are a few pics...

This is an adult Sable...

This is an juvenile Sable...

This is a belly shot of a decent sized Super Sable...

This is the same Super as above but as a juvenile...

I REALLY like the Sable and Super but I have NO idea what to cross it into this year... I guess that will be on the drawing board for a while.

Good luck this season...

With the yellow belly gene having the weird side patterns, I would think that might do something cool to the sable.

Not the greatest pic and about 5 months old, but here's my YB X Sable:

My opinion about Sables:

Breed them to Hypos, Vanillas, Fires, Sulfurs, etc. I think Sables are one morph, maybe like Cinns, where every combo is not going to be spectacular. I think the Hypo Cinn is sweet, and so should the Sable. I invision the Sulfur Sable looking something like the T+ Albino Argentine Boa...

Rich,
I saw your post and actually went to snap a couple pics of the 3 adult sable females we have and they are ALL in deep shed! ALL 3 at the same time!!
I would love to show them off but it will be a week or so. I plan to breed all three to lavender albino males as I think the sable gene should really accentuate the purple color. Any I think a lavender super sable will be a truly remarkable animal. Time will tell.

Posted these a little while back, but can't find the original post...so here.

And one that just went to David Bellis...

For comparison, here's one of the "light colored normals" without the sable gene...

These are from another clutch. For whatever reason, every one of mine have had a lot of granite in the patterns just like their daddy...

Some people reply to everything on the forum within 20 minutes of the topic being started...but they usually never have any useful information because they spend more time on the forum than with their snakes.

Such toolboxes can generally be ignored...unless you want to know how many gallons a tank should be to house a ball python.

It just takes a while longer to get helpful responses...people who have something useful to add generally have lives outside the forum (like working with their snakes).

Dear Rich,

Don't fret! As the price for ball pythons continues its earthward momentum the money-grubbers, used car salesmen, and outright a-holes will continue to flee...much like locusts on to the next cornfield. In the end, we won't miss them...I assure you!

(Already seen it in other species. They know how to convince everyone they're everything as long as there's a lot of money to be made in lying, and then...poof! GONE!)
