Do you think he is worth breeding? Or just a normal?
Thanks

Do you think he is worth breeding? Or just a normal?
Thanks
Tough call.
If I knew that it's parents were normals I probably wouldn't breed it, UNLESS, I found a mate that was very similar. But even then it would be iffy.
If I knew nothing about it's parents,...... hmmmmmmmmm....., I don't know. Maybe, maybe not.
Could end up with a clutch of feeder snakes, or at best, it could take you a year to get rid of all 20 babies at $50 each. A quick look at the classifieds to see all the regular baby burms for sale at this time of the year could help make up your mind.
Do you know anything of it's parents? Any albinoism or labyrinth there?
Later!

Due to political correctness run amuck,
this ol' hillbilly is now referred to as an:
Appalachian American
Looks like it might be a hybrid. A cross between an Indian and a Burm possibly.
Just my guess...

I think he's very pretty, much prettier than the one next to him. If I'm not mistaken, being het. for albino can cause a "normal" snake to look a litle lighter. At least, my burm Pixil is het for albino and labyrinth and is nearly the exact same lightness/hue as your guy there.
Does he have a great temperment or anything else that would make him a good candidate for breeding?
I've been able to sell normal ball python babies for $45 rather quickly just my posting on craigslist for my area, even though on the ball forum they swear that in order to sell normal baby balls you have to drop the price to $20 or below. If you breed him and the babies turn out unspectacular, you could advertise locally, and still probably get $60-100 a snake, depending on where you live. Just go $20-40 below what your area's petstores are selling them at and people usually jump on it. I could sell my ball pythons so quickly because all the local petstores sell them for $79.99-$129.99, and when people know that, my $45 seems really cheap.
I think he's very pretty, and if I had another cage and some money and came across him in a reputable petstore or at a breeder, I'd snatch him up.
