I know with females you should wait until they get around 230-250g, but at what size do you start breeding your males. I have a male that is an 04, but was small, and is now only 150g. Do you guys base your males readiness on age, or size?

I have used some males that were right at 175-200 grams with no problems.

i just weighed one of my proven males from this last season and right now he weighs 78.6 grams so i dont think you will have a problem. i would just watch closely so he doesnt end up as a meal
Ken,
the other poster hit it right on the nailhead, as long as the female does not eat him you will be fine. But that is a concern both ways when they are bigger anyway. I have used 15" 19 month old males in the past and had good results from them.
