Equate bedding spray at Walmart or K-Mart...it's like $3.00 a can and it does the same thing. Actually I think it has the same ingredients as Provent a mite

Yeah, it actually worked!

TnK Nov 17, 2007 04:58 PM

It will be more then welcomed once the word gets around, unless your bankrolled with PAM. LOL!!
The Hate mail will follow for many moons as to it undisputed reputation of being the most effective reptile mite eradication product to ever hit the market.

Not for use around inverts ! it will kill every bug on the premises.

Why is it better than PAM and how is it used? Why was it taken off the market?

I wouldn't mind giving BK a try, but honestly, I have nothing bad to say about PAM (provent-a-mite) since it was the only thing that solved my mite problem completely. I tried many methods that worked, but the minute I stopped using them the mites would return with a vengeance... when I first tried PAM I was scared of any problems it might incur being a chemical, but I followed the instructions and only returned my animals and their water after a long wait for all the air to clear out. No problems yet... except the price! LOL! My god that stuff is spendy, but I use it once a month in cages as I clean and I'm pretty pleased with it.
Please bear in mind - This isn't to blow down the BK, I just felt that PAM is often misused. I felt I should share a good experience with it, even if I am the only one! :P
Thanks guys and I wouldn't mind hearing more about BK as people use it and have opinons to offer!

I appreciate the info Matt, I will give it a try when this last can of PAM is empty and if it works, I will be a changed person! LOL! I could use any breaks I can, as far as spending. I have a smaller collection than you guys at 35, boas and various pythons, but mites are such a notorious pest and I've gotten them from several shipments and had to start the whole nightmare over!
Thanks...

If an animal is imported that I have to get and it has mites...this stuff has done the job easily. I will get an enclosure ready and only use paper towel as substrate. I will spray the enclosure and the paper towel...give it about 5 minutes the mist to settle and then add the water bowl and animal. I repeat this process when I change the paper towels or once a week...whichever comes first. After three weeks I am done.
