Nice new 07 models

Beaker30 Nov 16, 2007 06:56 PM

I recently was fortunate enough to acquire some new thayeri from John Cherry. I had been wanting some from his Laredo line for awhile, and John hooked me up with some fantastic animals.

This leonis female comes from a Laredo male x Cherry melanistic pairing. I really love her tri color saddles:

This leonis female is from a pure Laredo x Laredo pairing. She is tiny, but eats small pinks right out of my hand. She looks buckskin in the pics, but is developing a cool greenish/gold hue:

This leonis male comes from an F1 Laredo x different Cherry melanistic pairing. His colors echo his WC grandfather:

This MSP male is a clutchmate to the first female (Laredo x melanistic). He is tiny also, but he too takes small pinks from my hand. I love his striking colors and his cool head pattern:

I got super lucky with these guys. Not only did I get some nicely marked animals...I also got some fantastic genetics that will really diversify the gene pool of my collection. I am especially excited about the WC genes and the genes from the two separate melanistic females. Now the hard part...waiting for them to grow up! Thanks John!

You are more than welcome, I love sending animals to folks that appreciate the genetic part of our hobby. I hope you have continued sucess with them. As a side note of the thayeri produced from these lines this year we had 94.55% of them that took a first meal of un-scented pinks. Which was 52 out of 55. Not bad and it seems it keeps getting better each year. LOL The lack of stress and work caused by having to deal with a bunch of non-feeders sure makes Thayeri a lot more fun to work with.

John is this line related to Vivid's earth toned line? Please say yes. I don't have room for another line. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but no they aren't to my knowledge. The thayeri I have are basically out of Lloyd Lemkes animals, Dan V. Lines, My lines from wild caughts some 20+years ago and a line we call the Laredo line that are F1's from some confiscated thayeri. Each line is tracked and have been bred to produce first meal unscented pink eaters. Sorry for the terrible pictures. And yes I know these aren't thayeri, just some of my other mexicana I like.
