When to seperate the babies from the mom

LoKii Nov 16, 2007 10:27 PM

When do you seperate baby mice from their moms? My babies are running around with their eyes open, I am just curious when should I seperate them? Thanks

4 weeks. If you don' t know when that would be I would flippantly say give them another week. If their ears are held mostly back against their head they are still too young. If they have their ears forward and just look like smaller mice they may likely be weaned. Usually you can tell cause the water goes down drastically. Wean them too early and they aren' t drinking enough and you will stunt them or kill them.
