MITE CONTROL!

WALL2WALLREPTILE Nov 17, 2007 10:47 PM

Not an advertisement....as I am not selling it.

Finally "BLACK KNIGHT II MITE SPRAY" is available.

If you have ever had to treat new incoming snakes for mites durring quarantine....Get some Black Knight II.

THIS STUFF WORKS!
Now the labeling issue has been addressed and it is labeled for use as a "mite destroying spray" that is safe for use on your snakes.

It was unavailable for a while...and I am glad to see it back on the market. So, I just thought I would share the info about a product that REALLY WORKS.
I just found it on Pro Exotics web site.

Perhaps there are other dealers carrying it as well.

I just happen to be familiar with "PE" because we are both located in Colorado.
I've known them for many years.
Chad and Robyn are great people to deal with in the reptile community.

This is REALLY NOT a advertisment.
Regardless of who you decide to purchase this mite spray from...you will be glad you got some.
It works like magic.
Hope this info comes in handy for someone here on the Ball Python Board.
We all know...MITES SUCK! (Blood specifically) LOL.

Best wishes on your Breeding Season!

OK so I put in my order for the BK2 last week and it arrived a couple of days later. I was pleasantly surprised that for $4 more than what I generally spent on PAM, I got a 12 oz can of BK2 - twice what you get with PAM.

My question however is ..... Aside from the rave reviews on safety and effectiveness BK seems to have - many people mentioned they used it directly on their snakes as well as their enclosures. I've been doing the Reptile Relief and PAM regime when I get mite ridden snakes and I'm pretty happy with the results - so I was really excited to get something that I could just spray the animal down with and be done with it. Then I read the label - the indications are pretty much the same as PAM: spray enclosure, let dry, replace animal. Cautions everywhere on the can!!

Can BK2 be used directly on the snake - is it still as safe? Have the ingredients changed from the original?

BK-II has just come out, so i have run some quick ads and put it up at our site, but i haven't had a chance to get more detailed info out there.

the active ingredient remains the SAME, it is no less mite lethal and it is just as easy to use. the change made was in the propellant itself, as well as the reptile labeling.

we use it as we have always used it : )

i guarantee its not the same stuff as before. its probably had to be reformulated to reduce the pesticides in it. it sucks anything that used to work good isnt worth anything anymore.... the damn government has to mess with anything that works to make it just as ineffective as the government..... sorry just a rant....fighting mites right now and cant find anything worthwhile. dont buy anything from petco.......it will harbor mites!
