Cactus fruits(pears)

jrbl Nov 17, 2007 11:06 PM

Hi, My guys really love cactus pears, but I am not sure what part of the fruit I am suppose to feed them. If I only feed them the flesh, and not the seeds, I am basically only using 10-20% of the fruit. However, I am worried that the cactus seeds could cause an intestinal impaction. Does anyone have the same fear? What do you all suggest I do? THank you, Josh

I have not fed my ig cactus pears yet...in fact I am still in the process of trying to find them in my area...but anything that has seeds can possibly cause impaction. I would remove any seeds before I him the cacti. I remove the seeds from my ig's kiwi before I feed him that and if you've had kiwi before you know how small those seeds are! Hope this helps!
