Tail Rot???

zetaphidiablo Nov 18, 2007 04:47 PM

At the very end of my uros tail looks to be a problem. At first i thought it might be a shed happening then i looked closer. I ahve never seen tail rot...if anoyone has pics that would be great...but upon a closer look it looks as if the outside of the tail is seperating from the inside... i can see inside th tail between the spines and when i tape on the end of the tail it sounds hollow..but as i go further up the tail it sounds normal. I can't get picks and i am setting a vet visit up...but for those that are experienced does this sound liek tail rot??? I had soaked the uros on a every once in awhile basis just to ge them to drink a little water...if its tail rot could this be the cause???

Does it look like this?

No... its the last 3 or 4 ridgesof the tail... it looks as if the ridges are seperating from each other and something had seeped out (fluid). it looks as if it stopped now...but i can see in between the ridges and it sounds hollow when i tap on the end of the tail

If you have't already, I would strongly consider a vet trip. I am not sure what it is. You could also post a photo to see if anyone has seen it before.
