Probably not.

Tired Dog,

Are you refering to Lambert and those 14 aberrants he is TRYING to sell? I guess when you sell your
"collection" everyone else should just release their snakes to the wild...............LOL

I agree with Mike.

Stick with your projects...do what you love, and people will want them.

If you are into reptiles to make money...I think you're in the wrong business. Don't get me wrong, it’s always nice to recoup money to help pay for the hobby...but I hope it’s not paying your bills!

The market is saturated with Hondurans...only because very few people are buying them...so the supply exceeds the demand...right now.

People are dropping their prices and still no one is buying...so the price drops continues. It really doesn’t matter how far you drop your prices...no one is there to buy them!

I am going to return to the home land, Costa Rica, and will be releasing all my Hondurans into the wild...anyone care to join me? (that’s for you Scott, too funny)

LOL...........Thanx Rusty. A person producing animals should not be able to control market value. If that person sells at reduced prices......so be it..........he will run out, and the animals can return to their original price. A few years back a couple of guys tried to corner the snow hondo market, the snakes did not move as fast as they wanted so they drasticly dropped priced. Everyone else, instead of holding ground....freaked....and fell right in line and killed the snakes value forever.

Now alot of people are producing hondos, supply is up, so prices will have to come down to reach a balance. What this ends up doing is opening up the market to hobbiest that will spend 2 or 3 hundred on a snake. A few years back the only people willing to buy a snow for $2000 were breeders and get rich semi quick people.

Back in the good old days my main hobby was building hot rods. I would spend alot of money on engines, transmissions and chrome( you have to look good going fast). I never had a car that payed for itself. I now have a hobby I enjoy and no money is coming out of my pocket. This is not always about the money, I give programs at schools, the state park where I work or anyplace where people are willing to listen about how interesting, important and fun snakes can be. I think all of us that keep snakes should give back to the kritters we derive so much fun......or money from. Believe it or not there are still a few snakes left out there, running free that need our protection.

I know Shannon is selling allot of his stock but he keeps much more then just milks and he is still keeping allot from his post in the classifieds.

Personally if I can make extra money that would be a plus but if it only covers the costs of my hobby that would be just as great. I don't plan on just breeding one species and I plan on two others BRB and GTP, thing is breed what you love and money will follow, people will see your passion for something and thats all that matters. I really do enjoy Hondos though they are such a beautiful snake I am hooked.

As demand goes down supply will go up if you don't stick with it then you will be back were you started.

I really think that all reptile sales are slow, not just Hondurans. The stock market is shakey, gas is unbelievably high, and Christmas is around the corner. All of this combined will make any snake purchase a low priority. However, I say if one can swing it, buy. It's a buyer's market right now and you can pick up some high end animals for a reasonable price. And the market will rebound (even for Hondurans). All it will take is some new motley or other morph and Hondurans will be hot again. If you don't believe me just look at the history of the brooks and pit market.

I like hondurans and I think there will always be a market. I'm in for the longrun.
