I hope I made a mistake...

Checking again for mites this morning, I am beginning to think that I saw a few buggers, but after doing the reptile relief treatment, they might be gone. I am still gonna buy the BKII today. Everyone keeps telling me that mites can be best seen under the jaw in the loose skin. There is nothing there. The black dots I am reffering to are scattered throughout the snake on the sides. The side toward the bottom of the snake has speckled black dots. Does every snake have this? The only thing I saw on one of my snakes under its jaw was a little yellow mark right at the tip of its mouth of the underside. Kinda looks like some sort of tiny rot. Any suggestions? Thanks

Any bugs on your snake are not good - and need to be removed - yes mites will be all over your snake - under it's scales, etc. - it's just easier to see them around the white areas that's why people tell you to look there. Sounds like you have mites. Be vigilant and follow up your treatment for the next several weeks.

Good luck!

if you take a wet paper towel and wipe the animal down, you will usually see mites on the towel, at least a few.

also, you can see them moving, on the towel, on your hand, and if you pinch them between you nails, you will see and feel them explode.
