Genetics question.

justinmorse Nov 19, 2007 05:58 PM

I know this is a stupid question, but my brain ties itself in knots sometimes trying to sort these kind of things out. If you breed a recessive trait(ex: albino) to a normal, are all of the babies 100% het? I just can't remember how 66% hets and possible hets come about.

Any explanation would be most helpful. Thank in advance.

If you breed a visual recessive to a normal, you get all 100% hets.

If you breed het to het, you get visuals and 66% hets.

Actually if you go on to blog talk radio and check out Larry Suttle's show where he has guest Randy Remmington on with him. Randy does an amazing job explaining genetics. Its a two part show part one will explain the percentages and how you come about them in great detail. Heres a direct link to that show.
