Just going out on a limb here, but I'd imagine he was looking for more explanation than that. Basically, they go into a less active state where their metabolism slows down quite a bit (they will eat less, but not lose much weight; first time mine did it, I was quite worried about her - thought there was something wrong).

Good answer.
To add a bit more, some breeders will turn down their heating and decrease their light cycle times to enhance this brumation cycle in the winter months. Again, this will require a decrease in feedings. This 'cool down' can be between a month to two months. Some breeders insist this cool down is required by the animals for breeding purposes, others do not go through as extreme of a cool down.

So my Leo stays in her Hide a lot more these past few weeks. I live in Ireland and it gets cold here but i have a UTH and heat lamp in there to keep temps correct. Is mine going through this Brumation?

So...for this Brumation thing, when does it begin? And end? Can I get a few more details on this please??

Thanks,
Eclipse
