I get all my frozen feeders from RodentPro.com. They have great prices, and quality feeders. I really like how the mice/rats don't stick to each other in the bags.

Another vote for Rodent Pro, I have some complaints about the packaging and the bags they used but overall I would order from them again.

I keep hearing that Rodent Pro is the place to go, but I have just two snakes, and just one is on pinkies. If I buy a bag of 100, I'm going to end up wasting half of it, because by then the little guy will be big enough to eat something else! And I don't want to be stuck feeding two or three per feeding for months just to use up the bag. And heck, even with the other one that's on adults and probably will be for months, are 50 adults really going to keep for what adds up to more than an entire year in the freezer? (I feed one a week, 52 weeks in a year, take out one here and one there for when he's shedding, and it adds up...)

Is there anywhere that's good that has a smaller minimum order?

Best option I know of for smaller qty's is to go to a show. Not always frozen vendors there but usually there at larger shows. Then there's no shipping or packaging charge. Of course you have to get them home so bring a ice chest with ice!!!

Pssst. I'm a her, not a him. But thanks! There's jack all for local shows, but the guy I bought my new cornsnake from apparently can supply frozen feeders, so it looks like I've lucked my way into a local source. Thank heavens. The ones from Petco are the most disgusting mice it's ever been my displeasure to handle, and that's literally the only pet store in this town. I felt sorry for my poor snakes every time I fed them.

strictly4fun Nov 20, 2007 09:44 PM

you need to watch out for those pinkies at Petco

waspinator421 Nov 21, 2007 11:33 AM

Whoops, sorry! LOL. I'm glad you found a local source.

You could see if there is a reptile show coming up in your area. I've found that every show I've been to has someone selling feeders. It's usually not as cheap as RodentPro and the likes, but is still far cheaper than a pet store.

vacuum sealer and chest freezer except quality fed rodents I've tried rodent pro which is alright but the bagging sucks and Big Cheese I've heard nothing but good about it but more $$$

I used to order only from Rodent Pro or the Mouse Factory. I liked the mouse factory because I lived close enough to them that they could ship them to me via Grayhound bus and it was much cheaper.

Rodent Pro is good, and their online ordering and shipping maximizer is excellent. However, I have found the quality of packaging varies, particularly with rats. Sometimes they are well packed and vacuum sealed, other times they aren't. I think they might use different suppliers during peak times and that would explain the difference in packaging care.

I now use Big Cheese rodents almost exclusively. Their orders are consistently well packaged and their prices are competitive.

when I ordered from RodentPro the bags were never vacuum sealed which sucked but prices were great and I've heard nothing but good about Big Cheese since I believe all of their rodents are in house and not bought so healthy food= healthy rat or mouse= happy snake

but if you do plan to have a good sized collection then a good vacuum sealer and deep freezer will really help also

I did not read all the other replies, so if it is a repeat, i am sorry.

I like Big Cheese Rodents. They are based in Texas. I have visited their facility on numerous occasions. It is always clean, their rodents are always top knotch, and I think their prices are fair. They will ship, but I do not have experience with this, as I live close enough to get them in person.

I would recommend them to anyone.
good luck.
