you are going to keep the little guy right? Have you tried taking him to the vet to make sure that he is healthy? I wouldn't give up on the little guy yet.
It sounds like you are really frustrated. Give it some
time. If I recall you haven't had it very long. It took
me awhile to get Digit to eat when he was little.
Here is my suggestion. Test your temps and then leave him
alone for a while except for cleaning, for him to get used
to his environment. If there is one thing I learned is that
igs HATE change, even if the change is for the better.
If he is in a glass enclosure, cover 3 sides so he can't
see out. You are going to HAVE to be patient and if you
are it will pay off. I adopted my male from an animal shelter
at a very young age and let him guide our relationship.
Now, 4 years later (and much larger) I can do anything with
him. I consider myself lucky as I am his person and no else
can handle him like I do.
Don't get frustrated
Linda

Honestly, maybe not. I had a savannah for a very breif period (that was sold to me as "captive bred" that would not eat. It wouldn't eat for four weeks, and I returned it only to find that it wasn't captive bred at all.
I think if you get so easily frustrated, iguanas might not be the pet for you. Heck, I don't think most reptiles would be the pet for someone so easily frustrated.
It seems like you haven't taken your iguana to the vet either. I took the savannah to the vet and was informed it had a lot of parasites. I was not in the market for a difficult ranched animal with parasites, so I returned it. After all, I wouldn't have paid more for captive bred if I wanted to deal with those issues. Most iguanas are ranched. It's probably been shipped hundreds of miles in a crowded box, loaded with parasites, and stressed out. Give it a break, take it to the vet, get some appitite stimulant. Calm down.
