WATFORD OBSERVOR (UK) 16 November 07 Snake found in empty flat
This three-foot Taiwanese beauty snake was found at an address in Watford this afternoon.
The snake, which is not venomous and is usually kept as a pet, was found curled up on the windowsill of a ground floor flat in Cecil Street, Watford.
The RSPCA was called and captured the pet snake after a long search of the premises.
The flat has been unoccupied for six months and therefore there is no way of determining exactly how long the snake has been there.
Kate Cornell, RSPCA's animal collection officer, said: "The snake appears to have come through a gap in the floorboards.
"It has either been dumped or has escaped from its owners."
The snake was taken to exotic animal specialists Amey Zoo in Bovingdon, where it is currently being looked after.
The owners of the snake are urged to contact the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999, or Amey Zoo on 01442 834446.
