OT Hueco lepidus

archaeo1 Nov 22, 2007 11:07 PM

This is just curiosity. There's been several mentions of knockout rock rattlers from the Huecos, be they klauberi or lep lep. Any chance someone could post a photo or two? I've always wondered what they look like there. Has anyone ever found anything near the Hueco Tanks? Thanks! And Happy Turkey Day to all. --Henry W.

I don't know about anyone else, but I log on here because I love herps and learning about them, and I enjoy meeting interesting people. How about we focus our fighting energy at the Texas legislature? --HW

This snowsnake guy is wearing me out. I hope this helps you out Henry. Here are some photos of lepidus we found this summer. We found two huecos that were identical. I have found and seen quite a few from there and all looked like this:

Now the Franklin's are another story. I think these are some of the finest klauberi out there.

Bryan,
Great photos of the Hueco & Franklin rock rattlers. I'm still drooling. I truly believe I would rather find a Hueco lep than an alterna and I understand they're much tougher to find. As for the Franklin klaubs are there any public areas to "observe" them at there? They're gorgeous as well. Was sure hoping this snowsnake or snowflake guy was legitimate. He sure had me fooled if it is Bob S. incognito. Hope you guys are wrong and he is some legit guy but alot of guys who rarely post here say its BS.
That hatchling Hueco alterna just didn't look right but I got labeled the alterna police a couple of weeks ago by DD, but then it turned out I was right so its funny now. Thanks a million for the photos of your wild caught Gap. Sorry I hadn't got around to thanking you until now. Will gladly reimburse you for the photos and postage just tell me how much.
Thanks again,
Brad Anderson

Thanks for posting those great shots. The klauberi I am familiar with but the Hueco one is really cool to see. Much as I expected it to be. I wonder if they are more pink from up at the Tanks (if there are any there)? Thanks again. I'll try to get some new pics up this weekend to share. --Henry W.
