Do all black throats lose their color as they mature? If so, at what size do they get dull?

I really don't think there is any solid answer to this question. Most that I have seen LOOK like they have lost color, but they are just filthy from being in the dirt.
Of course they lose that initial bold coloring from their hatchling size, which seems to go pretty quickly.
Mine has maintained some nice orange spots, bold blacks, and bluish grays. She still sports the yellow nose also. She is 2 years old.

a well colored baby typically makes a well colored adult, but like all monitors, they fade with size, so that is very relative. they certainly don't look like 6 ft hatchlings.

All mine were purdy til they into their cages.
They then immediatly go dirty and stayed dirty.
If you want to see colorful adult monitors, ask Jody.
While you're at it, ask what brand paint he uses. hahaha
