Toffee & Sandblast Ball-The Urban Python

joshuaamills Nov 23, 2007 08:46 AM

Just browsing sites today being lazy and I saw the Urban Python site and was curious if anyone had news on the breeding and genetic status of the Toffee ball and the Sandblast Ball they have displayed on their site. I know in their description of the Toffee they say it successfully bred in 2007. Anyone out there have an Update on these 2 beautiful animals.

Their Toffee bred and produced normal looking offspring this year, I was told they sold a few offspring as guaranteed hets for $20K/pair !?!?!

The Toffee ball is a Recessive gene. There have also been some proved out in Japan and are the same morph IMHO.

I also do not think you would have to worry about Creg Stewart's hets if he is backing them with his word and IS standing by them with signed paperwork.

Creg Stewart has been around for mannyyyyy years and has a great name in the industry and IS one of the good guys.

I do think they are a little over priced in MY eyes but knowing what he paid for the Toffee ball I don't blame him for asking what he is for a pair.

There are a FEW people around with het pairs.

Just my 2 cents

Was it PROVEN to be recessive (meaning they bred a het back to the parent and produced more toffees)? Or are they just thinking it is recessive because they didn't get any toffee offspring to make them thing dom/co-dom? I have been following the toffee and paragon since I first heard of them, they are something I really want to see proven genetic and a project I would love to have someday. But selling hets before they're proven to actually be hets? Or did I miss something?

Disclaimer, was never intended to knock down Stewart.

You just can't sell them as guaranteed Hets BEFORE they are proven out, no matter who you are !?!

I don't believe that any with that look have been reproduced yet. If you want to get into a project like that then sometime you just have to gamble. Offering a guarantee doesn't necessarily mean that it absolutely, positively will produce the morph. It means that you will get your money back, or whatever else was agreed upon, if it doesn't. Frankly I think its a good way to hedge your bet.

I agree,

I don't think that it's much of a gamble. Craig stands behind his animals and I don't think I'll have a hard time recouping my investment.

As the saying goes...You have to pay to play.

Are you sure that CB babies have been hatched???

W/O question it is genetic but I was completely unaware that ANYONE has made babies from it...

As I know it has yet to be proven but there is no way it can not be genetic!

Positive.

I was fortunate enough to get a pair of hets from Craig. Top notch guy. I'll be giving him more money in the future.

Now I wait impatiently for a couple of years.

I am asking about VISUALS of that mutation.

I am completely aware of hets being hatched but who hatched out VISUALS?

A very cool mutation for sure!
