Regular Ball Python

BeardedHuman Nov 23, 2007 11:05 AM

I am fairly new to Snakes although I have been working with reptiles and amphibians for about eight years. I am now looking to buy a Ball python, I have the entire set up ready to go. So I have been looking at breeders online. Where can I find a regular, plain vanilla, python? I am not looking to spend a ton of money. Where can I get one?

Thanks

There are several listed in the kingsnake.com classifieds.

there are certainly plenty of balls listed on the classifieds, but you could get a narrower start with the fine breeders that sponsor this forum, listed toward the top of the page.

as a rescuer, may I suggest a rescue? Find someone local, and maybe you will be able to make room for another snake to be rescued! Most people who do rescues will be thrilled to help you out since you have relative experience, and will be able to offer a good home for an unwanted animal.
(just about went on a rant there! better get off the soap box while I still can)
Lots of knowledge in this forum that will be helpful. Where are you located? perhaps someone on here knows of a rescue close to you?

First of all, I want to thank you all for your quick response. Now that my wife and I have cleaned out the basement I have alot more room for my reptiles, so I have been looking to expand my collection. I really do like the idea of adoption though, I am one of these people who will go into a pet shop and see a mistreated reptile and buy it. I will take all of your ideas into consideration. It is not easy being a reptile guy in Brooklyn New york, but I manage.

Thanks

John

PS By saying a Regular ball python I meant regular coloring.
