The last bloodred post made me take some pictures, and I have a few non corns on the list, but I did take new pictures of most of my snakes.

My wantabe blood python. He really is this nasty. God I love him.
Bloodred male, unknown genes. Prop 06?

The female blood you've got there is amazing.
Hope mine comes out with that nice deep coloration like yours...
Gorgeous!

This is s odd. She's nice, but I do need to get her up to size. But I think she will be darker than I prefer. But I'm just building stock.

But I prefer a brighter red, as most people consider a great bloodred to be almost a deep burgandy. Of course no black is a goal too. I got turned on to these dang things by accident. I've posted it so many times, but we had a snake at the shop, never into corns, I had no idea. On sale for $125 it never sold, so I took it. A red snake (corn) grew on me. I think Kathy Love actually identified it after I sent her a lot of pics.

Bred once, and she did the bloodred dippie doodle.

This was her. And I had no idea what it was. I was never into corns in my first big phase of herps 72-80. And getting back into it in 2001, I had no idea of morphs. I've tried to learn a little. Basics are easy, but it is never ending. But I just like RED bloodreds.

I never took great pics. I did not have a good cam, nor knew she was kind of a special snake. But, she's the one taht got me hooked.

Oh man, I love the deep, rich coloration that you can get out of blood reds. Right now my girl is really dark, but shes only a few months old, so it's hard to tell how she'll turn out.
So in my opinion, the darkest, deepest, bloodiest red possible would make a good blood red, although I know a lot of people prefer something a little brighter and flashier. That's why corns are so much fun, so much variation to make everyone happy somehow.
Here's the baby... she's shed once since this photo, but I didn't notice any difference, although I will be chronicling her change.

Much more diffused than my babies. Maybe next year I buy a few better ones.
