Outdoor cage

onekgguy Aug 24, 2003 02:12 PM

I posted a few weeks ago of how my lizard had me on the run trying to round them up. I got an idea to make a cage for outdoor use where they could be in the direct sunlight during these very warm days we've been having.

They seem to love it.

Eve is right...that is very efficient. Get's the job done...is there an access door, or do you load and unload them inside?

Nice website too...soooo many pictures! Your sister (Lindsay I think?) looks like the singer Jessica Simpson with straight hair. Nice family.

Thanks Johne and Eve,

I didn't make an access door to it because I was concerned it might become a temptation for some of the neighbor kids to try and open. The entire wire mesh cage lifts off from the base. I ran some wire under the out lip of the black base and anchored it at two places with wire to the cage. I keep a ceramic log in the bottom where they can crawl inside for shade but I've never seen them use it. They're very content to hang on the sides and soak up the rays. It is fun to see how they get very jumpy and dart around when they heat up.

Johne, Lindsay (from my website) is my brother's daughter and usually she's told she looks like Leanne Rhymes. I'll have to tell her about your thoughts. Thanks.

They are both beautiful girls, so take your pick I guess. The girls seem to like Nick Lache (Jessica Simpson's husband) so you may like the compliment LOL.

I am paranoid about neighborhood kids as well, but so far I've don't believe I've had any trouble this year. I did lose an awesome male from my pen last year, but I did not have a top on it. Could have been the he found some wings, or the found him!

I don't figure you'd like being told you look like Leanne or Jessica LOL.

Now if you'd have said she looked like Marge Simpson, there may be a problem.
