Help--sick gecko due to cold temps

brewstersmom Nov 24, 2007 06:29 PM

A bulb was out in our gecko's enclosure, which is kept in our basement. We are not sure how long (no more than 2 days, though). Anyway, it was cold down there and 60 something in his cage. He has white on his feet and face, and is much more lethargic than normal. I held him to warm him up and then replaced the bulb. Is there anything else I can do, or is it a waiting game?

You should be ok. Make sure the gecko isn't warmed up too quickly. As leopards normal go through a 'cool down' period at this time of year, you may want to let it continue this cycle and keep it a bit cooler now for a couple of months (around 80 degrees.
