Quite a surprise, eh? Unfortunately, gone are the days of Lester Hayes, Lyle Alzado, Howie Long, Jim Plunket and Cliff Branch!

How did that song go? The autumn wind is a Raider...

How can you forget

Kenny "the Snake" Stabler!!

Raiders of old - one of the best.

The only thing I like about the Raiders of the 70s is that they make my Patriots the SECOND most hated team ever, LOL. Although they may overtake Oakland after finishing 19-0!

Joe, 19-0 I doubt it. But I am sure they can get by Philly tonight.
They will get lazy in a week or three and slip up.They already clinched there division today after only 10 games?bogus, and yes I am a pats hater.LOL

Joe_M Nov 25, 2007 06:23 PM

Shannon, I too have been a fan for about 30 years and obviously lived through some really bad Patriots teams, but have been able to enjoy the current run.

Great statement I heard from an analyst this afternoon (can't remember who it was, but along your line of "slipping up" "The only team that can beat the Patriots is the Patriots." We'll have to wait and see, but I think it is great for football, both the Patriot fans and Patriot haters.

yep, I heard that too it was on the Chargers game. And I think he nailed by saying that.

Anyway, yes they are a heck of a team so good luck.

Man, the eagles are iving them a ruff go.Good to see a good game and not a blow out.I don't think he was in bounds for that last touchdown and I can't believe they didn't review it upstairs but thats the way it goes.Oh yeah, they are in New England so that makes since LOL....

"JUST WIN BABY!"

Whew, that was a close one! I think (and hope) that close call may actually strengthen their chances for the 19-0 season. Only time will tell, and I wish every day were Sunday!

I didn't dislike the Patriots until the infamous "tuck rule" ruling on the field during that snowy playoff game that gave the Pats the ball back after the Raiders had recovered the fumble and seemed to have clinched the game!

yeah, I really didn't like them before that but when that happened I was crushed and have hated them ever since.I know it wasn't really them it was the terrible ref's but still it was them so they will be hated forever around here.LOL... its all good,

yep, I have been a true Raider fan for 31 years now. I loved all those guys. Lets not forget about Marcus Allen and the great Beau Jackson.

Shannon you had better watch it...I'd hate to see a jinx cast upon you...no alterna for 7 years...

shannon brown Nov 25, 2007 07:16 PM

LOL, seven years man. thats harsh. It did take me 53 nights to find my first one. Can't imagine that again.Talk about a expensive snake......

gratefuldead Nov 25, 2007 08:51 PM

Well, I'm already at 18 days with no alterna...But I have seen two leps and two trimorphs in that time...so that helps. Regardless, I hope that it doesn't take me 50 nights...Maybe I'll sacrifice something to the gods...

shannon brown Nov 25, 2007 08:54 PM

Well, I saw a trimorph the very first night I was in Texas.I thought it was a alterna and was really let down.I probably saw about 5 or 6 trimorphs and about 20 leps before I found my first alterna. It was a Lijitas and my second was a Davis so that was pretty good.

gratefuldead Nov 26, 2007 12:09 AM

Yeah, well...maybe the alterna gods see my contentious nature and the fact that I'm after my first lifer alterna and then alterna be damned...for a few years at least. After I knock off that bastard and then a few other straggler ssp of Lampropeltis, I'll have to move south to acquire the Lampro-lifers that serve as my crack...
