Absolutely... a good friend has a superball that will only take live black hamsters... talk about a picky eater!

no way that cant be true snakes that are picky about color... thats the wierdest thing ive ever herd in all my yrs of keeping reptiles. maybe i dont even know what to say ive herd of wild caught ballpythons only likeing gerbils and hamstters as well as some sand boas only likeing lizards. ill admit i had a soloman island tree boa that only ate live house geckos for awile but the after a wile only liked rat pups.

what the hell is goin on, color!!!

Having run a rescue for 12 years with snakes being here for 10, I can say with out a doubt color can matter. Its usually an initial thing and able to be switched, but I have had snakes that will not touch colored. They are so used to being offered white only, colored throws them for a loop. Usually once you get it feeding regularly and well, you can get the switch to any color. Often by offering the prefered color for first rodent and then the new color for second.

Of course this is all coming from the person with the worst feeding borneo on the planet.

Yeah well upping the food size didnt help. She was actually afraid of the small rat I put in there. I went to pull the rat out and she beat feet (ok I know she doesnt have any) the hell out of the cage before I could even get the door open enough to pull the rat. Allister was blessed with a lovely fresh killed rat and Eva didnt come out of her hide for a few days.

Next week is great lakes. I hope to get a nice selection of sizes. I can see what direction THIS is going in. I sooooooooo do not want live feeders in my house having nookey. Rodents make me itchy.
