I see alot of people posting Jim Peters Type B pastels as Bcc instead of Bci. When I talked to Jim he said they were Bci, so why are they still being referred to as Bcc by others?

is a close friend of mine for many years. His boas like you have are gorgeous pastel BCI NOT BCC. Many people post things all the time that are wrong. The best examples are the plethora of Leticia Boa postings. I remember getting shipments from Leticia and they look a lot like Peruvian Redtails. I have yet to see one Leticia Boa posting that really is a Leticia Boa...TC
I met Jim in Daytona last year and have talked to him on several occassions, he is a real good guy. By the way, that monster suri that you have on the forum is awesome.
Thanks for the reply.

Worth repeating IMO

I always thought a Leticia looked like the one on the cover of Russo's book. Is that one, do you think?

I haven't seen it. Send a link and I'll tell you...TC
I have some type A's and B's. As I understand it, the B's are the redder ones, and the A's are the ones that look very BCC. Vincent Russo has a nice write-up in his book, The Complete Boa Constrictor, about how at the northern region of Columbia, the Andes are lower and it is believed BCI and BCC intermingle (see page 266 if you have the book). According to his account, the scale counts, saddle counts, etc. are not distinctly BCC or BCI.
I'm not an expert, but I do think the A's look like such an animal. The maroon tail color and shovel head look BCC, but the thick round body looks BCI. I haven't counted the scales....
Here's a couple of pics of my Type A. I didn't buy it directly from Jim, but the guy I got it from did.
