Question for all you Hogg breeders.

MontyM Nov 26, 2007 11:27 PM

I know that the Hogg is generally a little smaller than Columbians. I was wondering if you guys would breed a 30 month female that is 7 lbs and around 5 feet. Thanks in advance for all who reply.

Based on the size you listed I would say yes, but based on the
age I would say no...

My hogs grew slower than that.

Personally NO IMO although some have done it,breeding any form of boa under 3 years of age is like breeding a 13 year old human.
Colombian and the BCC form need at least 4 years, some wont go until 5 or 6 yrs.Alot of the CA forms do pretty well after their 3rd year.Producing well formed, live healthy animals is what its all about.Slugs and still borns are a waste.

My $.0¼

Put em' together and see what happens. She knows better than any of us whether she's ready or not. Its all about how you support her during the process if you get a healthy litter or not.

Couldnt be further from the truth, following advise of this nature
shines a pretty dim light on those who follow it muchless give it.This isnt an opinion, its a time tested FACT !

Minor correction in that Hogg Island is really Hog Island and Columbia is really Colombia. best of luck in your project(s)
