Nice looking snake. Just curious, what is the largest size rat you have ever fed a garter?

I don't feed anything larger than pinky rats as far as rats go. There are a couple that could take a small rat but prefer feeding smaller food items, so as not to stress them out.

PS How are the garters doing?

Scott,
yes, prabably not a good idea to push the size envelope. I have been increasing to the next size mouse when they get to the point where they eat 3-4 eagerly per feeding, if they do this for severaly feedings then I bump them up to the next size. My garters that I got from you are doing great. The male anery feeds eagerly, but he is slower growing, but man is he going to be a looker, I wish I would have bought a female from you too, I bet they are increadibly full grown. The female snow weighs 150grams now and pushing 3ft long and she eats 2-3 small mice per feeding, the male snow is only 1/2 that size and hasn't grown much lately, he eats one fuzzie per feeding and I wonder if he might be close to topping out, I think he might be a little intimidated if I were to put them togather. I was thinking about trying to breed them this spring, she is certainly big enough, but do you think I should give her another year to mature anyway?
Jeff
