I started with three leucomelas and I am extremely glad I did they are extremely bold and brightly colored. I also have green and bronze auratus which are also kinda bold but for a first time frog I would recommend the leucomelas. But they are addicting so you'll probably end up with some auratus soon after. I got my pair of g and b auratus about 9 months after my leucs and my pair of imitators about a month after the auratus. I also have some vent tads taht i am currently raising.

I dont see myself getting any frogs in the future (besides my first tincs) But id have to say auratus. I would like to have the green and black ones. The only reason i would get leucs is for their call. I personally dont care for the look of them.

I vote for leucs, they are very acitve, bold, and look great. They were my first after a lot of good advice. Aratus might be a little cheaper at times, it all depends. I thought about getting some for the heck of it, but I plan to redo my Leuc tank so I want to use my extra tank for them while I redo the other tank. Like someone else said the call is very cool.
