Flame or Red hypo's

KrazyKritters1 Nov 28, 2007 05:25 AM

Are they the same thing? Was Krysco the first to produce these?

I'm curious, why do the Flame or Red hypos seem to have a more aberrant pattern?

I dont think they are registered traits just a color if you have a red hypo hatch you can call it a flame.I actually prefer the yellow or sulfer hypos.and it seems the abberancy is associated with most if not all hypo color forms.here are some tired old pics of Ol'Yeller a sulfer or yellow hypo what ever i feel like calling him today.LOL Chris

Flame is a distinct Phenotype... True flames retain lots of their coloration into adult hood. they have been line bred for RED/Orange color (and they can still get better!) the term "Flame" is not just a name to be thrown around every time you see a red hypo hatchling.

You can pop out high red hypo hatchlings from ANY pair of hypos... how much of that color they retain is another issue.

*aberrance is a trait associated with most hypos from any line

Hatchling Female Hypo Flame i picked up at a recent show:

Yearling Female Hypo Flame

Adult Male hypo Flame
