help!...he won't go!

mastino177 Aug 24, 2003 06:15 PM

I need some one to tell me if this is normal...

I bought my baby beardie from PetsMart (save me the comments, I know). I have him on paper towls, but they had him on sand. At the time, I didn't see any food (except for DRY kibble) and it and others trying to go after this adult cricket (way to big for a 5 week old...approx. 5-6 inches). When I got him home a couple of days ago, he ate like a pig...taking 4-6 crickets at a time (about twice a day) with a heavy dusting of Rep-Cal. He as a 100 watt (Approx 100 degrees at basking point in a 10 gallon aquarium)with a 8.0 Desert UV on him with a red night light a few hours at night. However, I have yet seen him go to the bathroom. What's wrong...I know he should have gone by now. He moves fine and everything...he as slowed in appetiete though...he is a hungry little guy... and seems to like being touched and held. So what's up with the lack of poop?

Have you tried spraying him with water to entice him to drink? Some people don't recommend this, but I gave mine a lil bath when I got them and the first thing they did was go to the bathroom. It would take them another day to eat.

I agree with WaGuy, I would buy out all the stores of their reptiles and give them proper care. I don't have that type of money or space.
