Is anyone out there breeding and selling brindle phase black rat snakes or flame phase Texas rat snakes?

I am amazed these handsome snakes are so hard to find.

havent you heard, ball pythons, leapard geckos, bearded dragons, boas, hondurans, tegus, retics, and corn snakes are all that is left. they are the future and the future is bleek LOL! keep looking i'm sure you will find what you are looking for eventually. they are long lived species that pop up on occasion. i'm sure someone is still working with them?

Brindle is easier to find than you think.... It is a het. for leucy snake.

black rats. I know that Rustys are often the by-product of producing leucistics but I've never heard of Brindles being het. leucistic.

You're thinking rusty, not brindle. Brindle is just a plain old simple recessive trait.

And rusty is not necessarily het. for leuc. I know people who produce rusties by breeding two rusties together every year, and produce 100% rusty babies, never a leuc. If all rusties were het leuc, a leuc baby would pop up eventually out of a rusty x rusty pairing. I've also heard of more than once person breeding rusty x leuc, and producing rusty & normal babies, not leuc babies.
