with crack whippith from its tail!

ameratsnake Nov 29, 2007 04:57 PM

I have a large grey rat that is one of the most docile snakes i have ever had. last month however something must have aggitated him because he whipped his tail at me repeatedly like he was a "varanid"! has anyone ever encountered this behavior? I have had other obsoleta subspecs do this as well. WEIRD!

My thayeri has done that.

Occasionally, I'll have one of my obsoletta do that. I'll reach in, and the moment I touch them, they jump out of their skin and whip like mad with their tail. I think it's because I've woke them up out of a dead sleep, but I could be wrong.

I have an old grumpy male North Carolina Greenish Ratsnake which gives me the whip whenever he gets the chance

My wife did that to me when she asked me to put up the lights outside and I said, I'll do it later. CRACK! I got whipped on my tail.
