Female Kordensis aggression

bob Dec 01, 2007 12:55 PM

My female Kordensis who has been with her male mate for 5-6 months now just laid one egg which appears to be good so far its only been one week however I took the male out to make sure she is eating well and isnt laying anymore. I reintroduced the male 2 days ago and now find him running for his life as she pursues him, I pulled him back out but would like to know what this riffs all about? This is my first breeding experiance with any of the tree monitors.
Thanks, Bob

Bob
In my experiences working with the "Prasinus" complex, females are highly aggressive while in nest gaurding mode!
I had one Female Beccari that was so aggressive when nest gaurding she came flying out of her nest box right at my face!

If your enclosure is big enough and full of visual barriers(silk foliage) and multipul basking sites your male will be fine.

Post some photos!
Good luck!
Mike
