Biaks are the most common type to be sold. They usually have the greatest variability in color and their aggressive behavior sometimes makes it easier to start babies. All types develop at their own rate. My Sorong that I've had the longest was close to a year and a half old when she finally started changing. Fuego was not even a year old when he did. My Jayapura type was about a year old. I currently keep 6 chondros, my oldest is a little over 3 years old. I got her as a yearling. My others are a year old or a bit older. My oldest is an Aru male I purchased from a good friend. He is 4 years old. Here's some pictures of my Biak girl and my unsexed Biak/PNG: The girl is around 2 years old, the Biak/PNG is a little over a year old.
Surprise, the girl
