Its definatley a whole different experience to watch him in his enclosier compared to the normals, pastels,an het's I have had in the past.He is doing alot better now than when I got him yesterday,he was all stressed out from that pet store. But we all know how some pet stores can be!Now the fun part will be switching him back to frozen thawed,he was on frozen thawed when they bought him from the breeder, but you can tell by a few scars he has that he has been fed live.Hopefully he wont be to bad.He comes up to the side of the cage an watches you now instead of hiding like he was.All in all I am very happy with him.Take care of yourself an thanks again!Eric Baker

I've read somewhere (probably Russo) that when boas lean their head, neck, throat in a vertical position up the side of their container; that it's an RI related mucus thing going on. I've seen it in some of my newly aquired (shipping stress factors most likely) and I've seen it in established snakes when cages were fouled and had a really bad atmosphere about them. Cleaned the cage, problem went away.
Something to keep an eye on if that's what your snake is doing. Never had to treat any snake behaving this way.
Your boa looks like a healthy one to me.

He is doing fine,Thanks for the important info though. No star gazing or anything like that.He is ajusting just fine to his new home.Today will be his first feeding day for me.As I said below I am just thankful to get him out of that pet store. An I know the breeder is probably thankful also. Thanks again,Eric Baker

We all know what it's like to finally get that special boa you've wanted for a long time, and saved and scrimped to buy. Congrats.

He is very special to me,It still amazes me to walk into the bedroom an see him in his enclosier.Pinch me,lol,Am I awake.I just wish I had found him sooner, with the few scars I see from being fed live prey,Its really sad in my opinion. But hes in a better place now.Take care,Eric Baker

you're welcome. I know what you mean, I have a few that have some nasty scars from previous owners feeding live.
