Partial Hibernation?

dmac Dec 02, 2007 11:46 AM

My male snow bull has been spending a lot of time in his cool side, not moving at all for days in the same spot. He still "wakes up" to eat, then right back to doing nothing in the cool spot (74 degrees measured with digital therm.) He is 3.5 years old, 70 inches long. He didn't do this in winters in the past.

As long as he's still eating, he is fine. He will use his heat when he feels the need.

I did some poking around in his cage (7'x2'x2' aspen substrate) and he had an enormous dump in his hide which he has never done before.) He is back to normal now.
