I think it's interesting how traits are passed along

This baby tangerine is looking exactly like her mother - right along with the subtle shading differences in the tangerine.

I'm certainly no expert - but it's interesting how clutchmates with this tangerine group are almost identical in pattern and color yet the next hatchlings from the same female (different eggs of couse) will be extremely different . Ahh, the challenges and fun of breeding leos. It's a living, breathing genetics class

I know I've been having some variability with my incubators (plus the temps in Minnesota this spring have been UP and DOWN) - so that may account for some of the variety. But it's stlll pretty interesting to see all the differences

Just thought I would share an interesting picture and ramble a bit

Geckoheads And Geeks

This is my 1.2 trio.

They are:
Top - Jumper - I suppose she's borderline super-hypo. She was produced by John Meltzer of RJ Reptiles - a very cool guy and a great herp man. The Baby in the picture above was produced by Jumper X Carl

Bottom - Chunky Monkey - she really has a nice blend of tangerine colors in her. Very vibrant and multiple shades. She really produces outstanding babies - better than the combination would seem. She also is a product of John at RJ reptiles.

Right - Carl - He was purchased at the KC herp show by John's wife Ruth as a baby - sort of a speculation. Isn't that a trip?

They all are a little dark from breeding - but you get the idea.

That's what I call the "Powergecko-Line". I know that may sound hokey - but I want to let people know that they are from unrelated stock. I have to give a big shout out to John Meltzer who got me into this. He's really well known for his Pits - esp. his western hognose and bullsnakes. He is a GEM in the herp community - very well respected and a darn nice dude. I'm am proud to call him my friend.

April and Fools were both from Jumper

The two you want are from Chunky Monkey.

Check the JPEG titles - CM and Jump should be in their somewhere.
