Glass Mountain Alterna

stevenxowens792 Dec 03, 2007 08:29 AM

Hey, Did anyone see the glass mountains for sale in the classifieds? Anyone know the story on these? I know one set of cuts running north on 385.

I think pics of these were posted before as the Ric Blair bloodline, I am just wondering which cuts produced his stock or if he got them off private land.

Nice looking animals... makes me wish I had money to spend.

Congrats to the buyer...

Best Wishes,

SXO792

I ran into a guy selling baby Glass Mtns at the NARBC, that claimed the adults came from the oil fields, and that a worker had found them. Not sure if those are the parents of the babies that were for sale-the guy was from Socal. Im always on the lookout for locality alterna, and I passed on them. The story just didnt add up. Although, Im basically the biggest pain in the ass around when it comes to locality info.

I bought the original parents from a guy and his girlfriend. They were doing venom reseach on Lep's found on private property in the glass mountains. It was near an extinct volcano or meteor crater. Been quite a long time ago. There was a group of about 10 people that were field collecting the animals night for the research. The head of the group spent some time collecting in the bend area also. Rented a house in Lajitas. Some of you old timers might remember him. He was a black belt instructor who drove a black 4-wheel drive. I believe Ricky Green knew them well. They had 1.2 but one female had died. I bought the remaining pair. The original parents are now deceased. The story was probably tweaked a little after all the time that has gone by. I saw that happen in a recent post on Kingsnake where someone had gotten in and accident and some alterna had died. The story was on track but details had been changed because of elapsed time and fading memory. Bob Haase stepped into to refresh the details. Ric Blair

Ric,

Hope all is well. Hope you are feeling better. I see no updates on the sierra website. When are you planning to post some updates?

Happy Holidays!

Hey Ric,
None of that rings a bell. I can't think of anyone that fits that description, I asked my brother who was there after I moved to AZ and he can't think of anyone that fits that descrition. I sent an email to HKM, he is into lepidus and lived in Terlingua for a while when I did, he also knew the academics that came through the Bend, maybe he will know but I have not heard back from him. I am sure he would have told me of anything like alterna from the Glass Mnt.
Do you have a name, first or last?

I just remembered the girls name is Patty. I remembered that they seperated later. The guy had long blonde hair and a beard. Maybe more will come to me later in a vision. Ric

I saw those and my heart went pitter patter. Then I remembered it was Xmas time and I shouldn't even worry about it. Then my mind started going in scooby mode and I wanted to find out a little about them anyway. Then someone else emailed me privately about the animals. Now they are no longer listed.

That is my cliff's note version.

If someone paid 800 then I hope they are verified real.

Happy Holidays,

Steve, I know a guy that had some babies at the Anaheim Show in sept.He bought a pair from Ric a few years back and this year produced some babies.Nothing special looking but pretty cool.He wasn't asking no $800.00 a pair so maybe somebody bought them all from him and is trying to make a killing?
Anyway, Linsay Pike had them at the show.

These were adults though. So the $800.00 was probably a fair price.
